Lady and Gentlemen Golfers:
On the recommendation of Agronomist Tony Miller, and with the support of the Golf Committee, the Club will again this winter forgo the over-seeding of our Fairways and Greens, electing only to over-seed the Clubhouse Grounds, Driving Range and the Par 3 Tee Boxes.
As you may recall from last year’s communication, a typical winter in San Antonio allows for good course conditions through all but two months, December and January. Weighing that historical reality against the 12 weeks necessary to grow-in and transition out of winter over-seed it becomes clear that our best opportunity to provide the highest quality playing conditions over the greatest number of days is to limit our over-seed to select high traffic areas thereby ensuring consistent conditions. We are confident that our golf course conditions over the past year have been excellent, despite our weather challenges, and expect nothing less for the year to come.
The over-seeding schedule is as follows:
Week of October 12th, Clubhouse grounds:
Please be aware that the Clubhouse Grounds includes the parking lots which will require that the irrigation system will come on and off throughout the day to ensure proper germination.
Week of October 19th, Driving Range and Par 3 Tee Boxes
We look forward to another beautiful fall of uninterrupted golf, a speedy spring and good golf throughout. Please feel free to contact any of our Golf Professionals at 210-698-1146 if you have any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Anthony Re
Director of Golf
